VCM Approval and Recognition

by Editorial Team Leave a Comment

Our certificates have been recognised and approved by the Victoria College of Music, London which is an international awarding body in music, drama and communication. This is not an accreditation process and our awards remain ours but now with added recognition and approval.

An articulation pathway has been agreed so anyone wishing to take VCM exams in speech or public speaking will benefit from direct entry and exemptions from theory elements and detailed Q&A depending on which certificate they have achieved (see below):

1. Exemption from discussion/questions in Grade exams up to Grade 6 speech/public speaking to holders of the Foundation Certificate and up to Grade 8 for holders of Certificate of Achievement (COA).
2. Direct entry to Gold Medal (Grade 8) for holders of COA.
3. Direct entry and exemption from theory requirements for Associate Diploma in Public Speaking and Diploma / Associate Diploma Speech for holders of the Certificate in Applied Public Speaking.
4. Direct entry to Licentiate Diploma for holders of Advanced Certificate of Achievement.

The ASC will also be highlighted as a learning partner in the VCM syllabus which is distributed all over the UK and internationally.

Despite this agreement being “the most in-depth and formal agreement ever undertaken by VCM” it has been agreed between ASC and VCM that there will be no charge for this arrangement. This agreement which approves our certificates, creates an articulation pathway to VCM exams recognising the prior learning of ASC candidates and provides international exposure for the ASC… is costing us nothing.

Lead partners on the agreement – Tom Scott (ASC National Education Director) and Stewart Thompson (VCM Qualifications Manager)
